For ranked? That's an awful idea, everyone would just block their bad matchups and characters nobody wants to fight like JP or Blanka.
If you really want to fight different characters try casual matchmaking or the battle hub once in a while, there seems to be more variety there. As far as ranked being full of the same few characters, that's just what happens when a lot of players pick based on tier lists. SFV had the same problem from what I remember.

Acknowledging the times, SF1 was at least trying to innovate. SF6 has nothing going for it - it's not rocket science.
But stick with the semantics shtick, it fits you.
And it was pretty derivative of Yie Ar Kung Fu, let's be fair here. The claim that SF6 "has nothing going for it", is, y'know, just your opinion, there's nothing scientific about it. It's yours to have and you're entitled to it, but it doesn't make it grounded in anything factual.
