3K damage AND a side switch? wtf.

I've seen it a million times. Easy to execute, does alot of damage, completely switches sides without any risk. Not only does Ken have the best corner carry, he also has this humdinger.

Which other characters have a high damage side switch BnB?

I think this is the reason people are riding with Ken. He has something that almost none of the rest have.

I think this BS should be nerfed.

I don't pay attention to stats on patch notes but the damage on that used to be higher, and it is nerfed already.

People are using Ken because he's been popular for the past 30+ years, the fact he's still pretty strong even after the nerfs is just a nice benefit. But overall his season 2 nerfs have barely dented his pickrates. And no amount of additional nerfs will change that. Most people don't even read patch notes. Ryu was the second most picked character of year 1 and he was considered bottom 3 in year 1.

I think that combo is what elevates Ken at the highest level of play. It doesn't matter if they nerf his damage a little bit. A sideswitch like that plus throw loops will always have him in S tier.

The impact of that combo will not show up anywhere below 1800MR because there are too many variables and mistakes. But at top level, that combo makes Ken S tier.

But I'm also asking if any of the other shotos have this? I suspect Akuma does, Ryu probably does not.

Character balance at the highest level impacts what characters pros are using and how many videos there are of tournament play.

It also makes it more interesting to have your character represented in tourneys. It absolutely makes a difference when a pro drops your character because the meta shifts, yet they let Ken keep his priviledge.

If this character and this combo is stumping you, play the character and use this combo as often as you possibly can.

Eventually you will run into a player who can beat it. Once you do, copy them.
