Guest characters this early into SF6 lifecycle? And two of them to boot?

I played a lot of Terry in past SNK games and I'm actually looking forward to trying him out and seeing how he fits into the SF6 meta but come on we got so many missing mainstays right now and so many of us are waiting for our mains to get into the game and CAPCOM hits us with not just one guest character for the 2nd season... blah.

I mean if they could pump them out faster no problem but with just 4 a season and now we are basically at least a year and a half away from getting to play with someone like Sagat, Urien or Makoto (I'd say Q but I doubt we see him at all)...

Yea its not that guest characters are bad, but with the limited amount of characters we are getting every season having half of them being taken up by guests is really disappointing. If we got 6 a season then my thoughts would be different.

I want Hugo, Q, or Hakan to be added and those characters are not popular in the slightest so I had already come to terms with the fact that characters I want have a very very very tiny chance to get in. But now I know that half the roster can just be guests, the chances I'm going to get a 2nd character I like is probably zero. This announcement has gut checked my vibe not only for season 2 but probably for the rest of SF6s life cycle.

People are already screeching about Zangief going from bottom 1 to like barely mid tier so I fully expect him to get gutted at the end of season 2 just like in SFV. Then the only character I have will go back to being a steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥ to play.

I honestly think shes a fine pick. I think they should pick a less popular character to put in every season and not just focus on fan favorites we would get more unique ccaracters that way.

Something like 2 fan favorites, 1 less popular character, and 1 guest character would have been a way better way to go about it. Ideally though I really wish it was 6 characters a season and it was 3 fan favorites, 2 less popular characters, and 1 guest.

Well never liked Elena might just be my own personal bias haha. Bison and Terry saved this from being a total let down in my view at least.

But yeah with just 4 characters every 12 months a questionable pick hurts that much more. I'm sure they've crunched the numbers and they are maximizing revenue like this... so nothing more to do than play the waiting game on the missing fighters so far.

I'm not a fan of Elena either I still have PTSD from Ultra SF4. But the fact they did pick a character that's not as popular among fans is a positive thing imo. Fan favorites tend to be very predictable and the more unique characters tend to fall by the wayside as a result. Not many people like Hakan, El Fuetre, Necro, or the other odd characters but characters like this almost always have very interesting play styles. There isn't a grappler quite like Hakan for example.

You don't have to fill the roster with these types of characters but its nice to get 1 every season. But with guests on the table more and more people are going to get characters they dont want.

Exactly so we're getting just 2 SF chars, very very disappointing. These whole 4 chars a season feels sluggish as ***L

Game development takes time, quality game dev even more so, if they bumped it up to 6 characters a year they'd have only two months to make a character versus the current three months. That's definitely going to be felt in quality assurance and balancing.

I think at this point in time SNK needs the exposure more than Capcom does. An all Street Fighter character pass would've made them more money I'd wager.

How is it not dead obvious that they're putting 1 legacy character per season pass so they can force you to buy the pass even if you want to play only 1 character in it?

They should've picked:
1)A REALLY WTF character i.e Rufus, Q, El Fuerte, Hakan, Sawada etc.
2)A fan favorite i.e Makoto, Ibuki, Sakura, Sagat, Cody etc.
3)A cool af character, despite not being THAT liked by the fanbase i.e Hugo, Remy, Guy, Fei Long etc.
4)A NEW STREET FIGHTER 6 character.

The SNK half of the pack is absolute garbage. How many games did Terry and Mai appeared? They even made Terry a female in one game, ffs. Then Fatal Fury, with both Mai and Terry, mind you, is just around the corner, anyway. Wack af.

The SF half could be better but it's not terrible.
