Hi. I hate guest characters.

What I liked about Street Fighter is that it WAS the only fighting game that didn't waste slots with guests. Terry and Mai are there just to promote the new Fatal Fury, it could have been just a Battle Hub event with their outfits for avatars. But Capcom chose to show us the middle finger and ignore frequent requests for Fei Long, Sagat, Makoto, Dudley, Laura, Cody, Vega, Ibuki, etc. At least Bison (sooner than expected) and Elena are back, that's good.

Totally disappointing news. Why do you want to revive Bison again? He was supposedly destroyed in SF V and there are many other bad guys in SF universe. What is worse are those guest characters. SF doesn't lack cool guys and sexy women to borrow them from SNK (and their next fighting game is coming having both Terry and Mai included). Instead of those you could bring back Dudley, Fei Long, R. Mika, Vega etc. Bring a new character. Not a smart move, Capcom

This is really a let down.

Akira was a guest; and all newbies could be considered thus, until they are made stalwarts / canon. The CHOICE is what matters, more than there being guests... Frankly, I see Elena as more of a wasted slot than either Terry or Mai.

I'm particularly salty about Makoto being absent but okay Capcom, you know better.

Two out of four isn't good for SF6 either when we are missing so many mainstays from the current roster though.

the roster as is covers a good range of character archetypes if you like past characters. Look at tekken 7 and how much it's blown up as a series. I'd like to think its part legacy and part trying something new with guest characters that led to 7 going into 8 being as cool as it is

KOF has peak player base of less than 500. So you're telling me they're making a year worth of content to bring in those 500 people into SF?

If anybody supports Mai and Terry having a slot they have no right to complain when their favorite SF character doesn't come back because it's because of people like them.

It was not. KoF has never had guests from outside SNK, and that's despite having massive rosters. I don't think Guilty Gear has either. Nor Virtua Fighter, although that went inactive before this became a big craze. It's mostly just Namco games and Mortal Kombat, then DoA and the last Samurai Shodown dabbled in it. The only thing separating Capcom is they created a side franchise for mixing Street Fighter with collaboration characters, otherwise Street Fighter has had by far the most guest characters.

Street Fighter has had by far the most guest characters.

From Final Fight and Rival Schools, same universe, doesn't count.
