Thoughts on M. Bison's return and season 2 DLC?

So, as of me writing this, the trailer for the Season 2 lineup just dropped less than an hour ago. As those of us who saw what was in the secret Shadaloo lab in world tour predicted, M. Bison is returning, despite the fact that he supposedly was finished once and for all in SF5. Alongside him, Elena is making an appearance along with Mai from KOF and Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury.

Personally, I'm pretty hyped to see them all arrive, but to be honest I'm kinda disappointed that they're reviving Bison AGAIN instead of letting JP remain as the big bad evil guy of this game.

What are your thoughts?

Find it honestly bizarre that the season 2 roster is 50% guest characters (albeit good ones). Makes it feel like Capcom has no faith in this game or their own stable.

Story-wise: yep, would rather Bison stay dead and let things move forwards. Oh well.

I'm glad Capcom watches over me and don't wish me spending much. I literally have no desire to buy any character (except Akuma, cus Akuma's cool) whatsoever.

Bison could have waited. Guest characters are wack with only 4 new characters per season, and elena was probably the least interesting 3rd strike character to bring back. I guess I'll get Bison, but not interested at all in the rest. I thought we'd get Sagat, Sakura, Makoto, or Dudley before Elena of all people. Still no Metro City reps btw in a game set in Metro City. Where my boy Cody at?

Elena had to come back, she's Akuma's only friend, and possibly the only tie he has to humanity.

I don't think any of us expected the franchise's most iconic villain to be gone forever. But if you're going to 'kill' them off, I would expect it to be common sense to leave them absent for at least ONE sequel before you bring them back?

So, Bison is 'killed off' at the end of 5, only to immediately come back in 6?

Like, that's not even a fake out. How many times has Bison cheated death by transferring his soul into a cloned body?
