Only 3 returning female characters

4 new female characters
1 new female charcerter coming in first season

SFV had total of 13 female characters and only 3 are returning ?? Only 3 out of 8 female characers in SF6 are returning characters.
Is the female cast being replaced ?

I dunno, SF5 Launched with women 5 in the roster. The SF4 Arcade only had 2, and the home release a year later only added 3 more.

SF6 lauching with 7 makes it better in terms of male:female ratio than what's come before.

The roster was even smaller there but out of the 5 only one was new.
I'm interested in chances of the previous entry girls coming back.
Like if you look at new characters in SF6 only 2 new male character and 5 new female characters. Given there are more male characters in total but fewer male newcomers, doesn't bode well for previous girls coming back.

... so it's not that different in terms of raw numbers. I guess if you're a big fan of the previous women, then yeah, it sucks a bit - I would really like to see Makoto and am a little disappointed that she didn't make it in the launch lineup, but I don't think it's anything to be worried about.

Old characters will return, nostalgia makes money.

Yeah, I guess Luke is a strange one. Originally designed for SF6 and backported to the SFV. Shall we say 2.5?

And I see your point, I guess - it just doesn't matter a whole lot to me; I like good characters and don't get overly attached to them across the series, so it makes little difference whether they're returning or brand new - I mained Makoto (badly) in SF3, so I'd like to see her back but if it doesn't happen, it's a bit of a shrug.

If I had to pick, I'd prefer to see new characters than old ones return - they're just collections of functions after all and if Makoto was replaced with a character that operated like Makoto, that's good enough for me.

In the end, Capcom know that women sell, and outfits for women really sell. We've got a long road ahead of us with this one. Capcom will be doing everything they can to give people what they want.

How many females characters do you want in game? Most female characters are there for eye candy, objects to look at. Marisa is basically abel could be potential with that character
