Someone here has a brain and doesnt look at what games I play and throw pointless comments. Thank you for seeing my point.
Love this repsonse. Its spot on. And shows how the barrier for entry is greater than it would otherwise appear.
Tell me you've never heard of Redfall without telling me.
You're welcome. The irony is that this problem would've justified making SF6 a F2P game.
Because then they could update the content freely without charging anybody.
Except unless they want "Fight Money" or other extensive "upgrades".
Of course they need money! That's how they keep the franchise going!
Welcome to 2023 where people want to pay $20 for a game and expect all the content the developers will spent thousands of hours working on to be given to the them for free.
Back in the day, you had to buy the whole game at full price again whenever it got updated, patched etc.
Sidenote: It was shared in a recent SF6 interview that it takes a lot of time to plan out characters. Creating, rendering, moveset, animation and balance take a very long time. So don't think that Capcom have like 50 characters down and are only giving us 18 for now.
You're like every other dude spitting trash with that "complete edition" thing. Ok, SFV is practically complete now, what's stopping you from buying it now? Hell, it even goes on sale so often.
You are one of those greedy consumer types. You want as much as possible for as less as possible. How do you want base game at a lower price and then expect to get all the DLC for the next 6-7 years for free???
Man, I would've lashed out so hard if I wasn't so civil as I am. Continue playing your Lost Ark.
Ask yourself this.
If they want to make season passes every year for next 6-7 years that cost $30-$40 each time. Then theres no good reason for the base game to be full price, Because alot of players are allready paying the $200 the game costs when all the content is out anyway by then.
Capcom dont need that game to be full price because they make so much from the season content alone.
So being greedy in your sense is me wanting to pay $250 for all the content excluding base game Vs spending $300+ dollars for it. I'd rather pay the 250 and call it a day. The total cost is bad enough without the base game too.
But please do continue to take the fighting game andy "he's insulting my fighting game"
approach "my feelings are hurt" "Best insult Him with a game he plays" comment
Could go buy a PS5 instead of 7 years of SF6 content. <---- thats what I'm getting at.
You answered your own question. Then I'd just buy it for $60. I dont obsess over games releasing later than sooner
If they made a statement saying that theres was no plans for any DLC. Then I'd wait for a sale. So I'd buy it $35 -$45 mark. Makes it similar to Soul Caliburs cast. So fair cast of fighters for a fair price.
I'm not Entitled to expect DLC in fighting games I buy. If thats what your getting at.
They should release the game now with everything intact.
If you asked this years ago, it would've made more sense.
This dude has too just be trolling & complaining for the sake of complaining because every fighting game since 2009 has added fighters later on to keep the game going. You're the ultimate casual who will play offline for a few hours then never touch. Fighting games need DLC content to keep the player base. None of these characters added down the road were created upon launch. MK11, SF5, and Tekken 7 all just did extra seasons of content due to Covid. They all added characters due to their new game being pushed back meaning NONE of that content had been created yet. Also for you casuals it doesn't effect your experience one bit its not like you're going to play online & try to get good at the game.
Also you're complaining about buying all the content which we know you never will. You're a filthy casual you're not going to buy a character you don't like. In your theory Monster Hunter World shouldn't have ever been released or bought because they released an expansion years later that was equal in size to the original game. We should just get everything for free right? I bet Capcom was holding Icebourne for years just to charge you when it could have been released in the base game. Are you that stupid?
Yes, I'm expecting content that should've already been made, within the span of the time they started development of its original assets, to be in the final product. It's not stupid to request or demand this because it's overplayed and actually stupid to purposely remove free content from the game for financial exploitation. We don't need another situation like Marvel vs. Cacpom with DLC content on the physical release.
Also, we're not getting much for more aside colors and minimum alterations. Overpaying up to $70-$100 for the content that hasn't either been developed, or finalized, shouldn't be advertised because it's deceitful and risky. There's no reason to defend this because you're actively encouraging them to continue this tactic. We should be able to have everything already in the game to be unlocked later.
Again, there's no reason to defend this because it's overplayed and stupid. Fighting games have existed longer without repeatedly exploiting DLC and still remain relevant to play. You're thinking about what's become of the gaming industry years after they've found a new method to wrongfully take advantage of their customers and prolong development. Regardless what happens in the real world, there's no reason to have multiple versions of one game, with more or lesser content, with an overly expensive price tag.
Now it's time to stop being ignorant.
Firstly, complaining about this nonstop occurrence doesn't make anybody a "filthy casual". It actually meant they're wisest to the manipulations and are only making it clear that it's happened enough and needs to stop. We don't want to overpay for an unfinished product, and constantly be lied to, just because certain developers and publishers are unapologetic about their greed.
Secondly, even if they're successful, any product such as Monster Hunter aren't exempt from this because it's clear some of the content doesn't need to be divided. Some content should just remain secretive to unlock because they're either minor, expendable, or too contextual to the whole experience. It's meaningless and should be corrected by assuring everything is completed and released on launch.
Otherwise they'll just continue dividing their audiences.
I'd rather have a full game with everything intact than an expensive unfinished one.

Ya it's a full game bud.
Frankly speaking if you do buy a season pass that should cover ALL future dlc in a game
and the fact that it doesn't makes the concept really dumb it's a gamble over quality
instead of mutual respect over supporting the game
