Any advice for escaping combos?
This is an area where I definitely feel the need to improve on I actually got stuck in a 44 hit combo from a Dee Jay player at one point. Don't get me started on "Modern" control players who just let the game do the combos for them.

But, I can't deny this just as much a problem on my end. If I could just learn how to escape combos, I probably wouldn't be complaining about that.

Any tips?

There is no way for escaping combo, if it's already started (and it's a combo, not a blockstring).

Escape Combo? There is no escape combo, if it's a true combo with links the only way to escape is for the opponent to ♥♥♥♥ up during execution. The concept you are looking for it's not that, it's how to not get wiff punished and having better reaction to what your opponent does.

While you're being actively hit, there's nothing you can do. So what you can do is to learn when it is the opponent's turn.

Look at the column "on block" (oB) on this website https://fullmeter.com/fatonline/#/framedata/SF6/DeeJay
Then, find in this column a positive value (color coded in green), and this will be the opponent's move when you can't mash out (it's their turn). And if you don't mash, you don't get caught in combos as easily.
