Is Dee Jay better in this game than he was in Street Fighter IV?
Because I see people rank him high up in SF6 tier lists, compared to the SF4 series.

First off, ignore tier lists and play characters you love/feel comfortable with, playstyle-wise.

Second, Dee Jay seems to be performing well IN THE RIGHT HANDS, so if you practice well, you'll have a good time.

I was wondering about his qualities, that's what's more important I think.

Video might be a better place to start, in that case:

SOOOOO much better. In the hands of someone competent, Ultra DeeJay was mid at best. He had gimmicks like short hop light kick, but overall, his tools were finicky. There was a point where he was considered lower tier, and since then, he's climbed up, but he's nowhere near as his as he is in VI

Yes, he is. Here's a video to give you an idea of how bad he was in SF4. https://youtu.be/PXw_Khbl2kM
He's pretty good, too high for my own paygrade for now, but he looks really cool.
Probably the biggest step up in FG character design History.
He's top 4 in the game rn

He's one of the strongest characters in the game

Idk about tier lists, but I can tell his buttons are good.

Judging by the videos linked, it looks like his combo potential greatly improved from SF4.

he's pretty great. his major weakness though (and its not really all that major), is that he has very few cancelable normals. so he's actually quite easy to bully with drive impact if you're standing at mid normal range
