Honestly, it is a good thing that Dhalsim is unpopular and not played more
BECAUSE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ THE MATCH MAY AS WELL BE PLAYED AT x0.25 SPEED. IT'S SO SLOW.

Come on Grandpa! I thought Yoga was supposed to keep you young and spry, yet Grandma over there already lapped you around the station twice and she threw her hip out passing the hotdog stand!

Dhalsim is arguably the best character in the game if you're a top player.
He's easily the worst if you're a beginner or just not very good.

I think he forces you to actually play the player, versus simply starting the round and playing your game. Good Sims force you to play the entire round and look for openings. Openings will be few and far in between, but they will be there. You just have to know the matchup. Some players forget there are 99 seconds in the match and wanna just rush in and punch faces. There's no chip and you have parry to gain meter back from all the fireballs. You have to think of neutral as a war of attrition...and maul when you get your opening. It's easier said than done, but I like how he and JP make you really change how you think about the fight. here are things that work (sometimes):

-If fireball, expect a limb and a slide when you jump the fireball. DI the slide, as it's part of the Sim flowchart. If they don't learn, it's free money.

-Most Sims will panic when knocked down, and expect a flurry of punches. Try empty jump throw, as it counters parry and get-off-me-DI.

-if you've got the life lead, stop going in. They've got to come to you, so expect the teleport and jab them out

This general advice sounds like it can apply to any character, though. Especially the "know the match-up" part. Obviously I'm not talking about the character specific stuff you stated, in case anybody was wondering lol

Yeah, true...but playing Sim requires patience on one end of the spectrum versus playing against Cammy and Ken, which is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Especially in terms of opportunities to actually make contact with the opponent. One stays full screen, they other two are in your face. All. The. Time.
