Link fields to farmhouses
Unfortunately, multiple farmhouses currently do not work.

My map has wheat and barley fertility at different ends of the map. So I thought I build 2 fields for each fertility (1 fallow, 1 planted) each with their own farmhouse.

I started with 2 wheat fields (1 morgen each) and 1 farmhouse with 2 families and 1 ox. Left one field fallow, the other fully sown by Nov. It worked perfectly, harvest ca. 70 wheat.

I later did the exact same setup on the other end of the map for barley but it doesn't work at all. All 4 farming families (and both oxen) run back and forth across the map, losing time and not getting much work done at all. Result was 20 wheat, 40 barley and only the barley field plowed and sown by Nov. In addition, both barley and wheat ended up in both farmhouses and had to be transported across the map to their respective processing buildings (windmill near the wheat fields and malt house near the barley fields).

So now I have to put 1 farmhouse with 4 families plus all processing buildings in the middle and hope for the best. What I would like to see instead is the ability to link fields to farmhouses and force workers to work those fields only.

I thought it was possible to set a work area for the farm using the advanced tab - is that not working? I haven't tried multiple farms yet since, so far, all my starting regions have had poor fertility or just one single good area.

You can set a work area just like with logging camps, hunters and foragers. Hold down CTRL and scroll the mouse wheel to increase or decrease the size of the area. I did not pay much attention but seems to do the job.

I did not know that was possible for farmhouses. On a related note, I also did not know that you could increase the size of the work area. Which means my foresters have been replanting this tiny default circle. /facepalm

Thank you. You Sir, are a genius. /bow
