saves lost repeatedly playing on Boosteroid
Several times now, on 0.8.050, I've lost some saved games - but surprisingly, I'm like 90% sure that the Autosave, which was *not* lost, was newer than at least some of those lost saves. It's pretty weird.

I'm playing on Boosteroid, and I even made sure to exit the game and watch Steam successfully upload to cloud and then exit Steam and wait for Boosteroid properly close the session - and yet, the next time, recent saves are gone.

This might be an issue with Boosteroid or the Steam cloud sync rather than purely with Manor Lords - but it does work fine with other games.

This keeps happening to me. Basically the only savegame I can rely on is the Autosave for some reason, any others randomly disappear.

Might be related: in addition to the Boosteroid session, Steam is also running on my computer. Maybe that's causing some synchronization conflict in the cloud saves?
Greetings,

If the game is actually installed on your system, then your better off sending the saves to your system storage (systems AppData folder) than a cloud save.
- If any of the other platforms have "some different" method for listing saves or naming them that may not be seen by the game. (as a valid save file.)

I think you misunderstand. In both cases (my computer and Boosteroid - basically just a VM in the cloud), the game is ran via Steam, and Steam manages the synchronization of its saved games into its own cloud.

My best theory is that the game keeps an index of the saved games separately from the saves themselves, and that's either not synchronized to the cloud at all or somehow messes it up. But I haven't really investigated in depth, I have enough debugging and troubleshooting at work. ;-)
So, this issue doesn't seem to be limited to the steam version. Also doing it on the Xbox PC Game Pass version 0.8.50 on a local pc install. Autosaves are there, but any manual save is lost after quitting the game.
Greetings,

Are you playing the game as a User with admin access?

Do the "manual" saves, have permission to write to the save folder location?
- Located in a system User protected folder called AppData. (and normally hidden)

The game may have access to that location but the User saves do not.
- Setting the games main exe's to have Admin access level AND "change settings for All Users" also set for Admin level access.

Sorry, I don't mean this in a bad way, but what you're saying does not make any sense to me. AFAIK saves are just files, they don't "have permission". It's user accounts and processes that have permission.

Anyway, ignore my local PC install. The problem happens even without me running the game locally at all. (I guess I should test whether *being installed* locally has any effect - at this point I don't think so.) The problem occurs (at least) when ran in the Boosteroid cloud via Steam, where I can't influence how it's installed and what permissions it has, and now @tpjones confirms it also occurs in another kind of install so I wouldn't even blame Boosteroid either.
Is there a way to get the devs' attention? Or a better way to report bugs? This is a seriously game breaking issue.

Tried using admin. No change
