A few others have also reported this.
- Did the research check and here:
It's most likely a 'false positive" as it's a new item that has just been released and not many users or antivirus programs have seen it before.
See here:
What is IDP generic?
IDP. Generic is 'Identity Protection', so when a security application detects a threat called IDP. Generic, it indicates that it was detected by this component (Identity Protection), which generalised a detected file. This detection is often a 'false positive' and is not tied to a specific virus signature.
You can actually go into your antivirus program and set it to "allow".
Or retrieve it from the quarantine folder.
I also run Norton and had no problems with the Beta patch update. Insure that your "definitions" are "up to date". As I check mine every few days.
- Both Norton and Spybot.
A disk write error is normally the program not having sufficient Authority to install into certain system locations. Or your systems "protected system files"
- C++, .Net, and Direct X files need this upgraded permission to be installed.
- This games New Engine, Unreal Engine 5.4 and 5.5 uses C++ as part of the coding system.
As I've said, I have the game working now with that file added to the exceptions.
I'm afraid your going to need to do a bit more research on Modern threats to computer systems.
Basic firewall threats are only one of many types of malicious materials that can be received by your system
- Threats can be classified into four different categories; direct, indirect, veiled, conditional.
From Malware, Phishing, Social Engineering, Ransomware, MITM attacks, Spyware, DDoS, SQL injection, Trojans, Worms, Keyloggers, Adware, Viruses.
Just some of the types of code that could arrive or be installed from many different sources.
