Black Screen during Gameplay
Hi everyone,

I just got Manor Lords and when I start the game I can click through the menus, set up my avatar, choose the difficulty etc

But when the map starts I can’t see the actual world itself. I can see the messages I get, I can see the top bar with all my supplies, I can see deposits on the map etc just not the actual map.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix it?

Greetings,

Do a game file verification through steam,

Followed by a reboot of your system.

The game is playing so there will be no crash report to understand what is happening.

Does your system meet all the requirements for the game?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have done the game file verification already. I’ll check that again and then do a reboot.

The system should meet all the requirements. I’m playing on a Mac though via CrossOver. However, I’ve played several games through CrossOver with no issues.

I was wondering if it’s something about the graphic settings?

Greetings,

You can check what your game has set the graphics to in the games setting files.

- normally around this location on a windows system;
C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Local\ManorLords\Saved\Config\Windows

The AppData is a hidden folder you'll need to enable "show hidden folders" to see it.

Here's an example of what it may look like: (excuse the resolution I have 3 monitors)

[Settings]
ML.defaultAASet=1
r.setres=5760x1080 f
ML.tutorials=false
r.VSync=1
r.tonemapper.sharpen=2
r.Shadow.Virtual.Enable=0
ML.autosaveTimeSeconds=900
r.volumetriccloud=1
ML.upscalerQuality=2
ML.aaMode=dlss
r.ngx.dlss.enable=0

Or from the GameUserSettings.ini

[ScalabilityGroups]
sg.ResolutionQuality=0
sg.ViewDistanceQuality=3
sg.AntiAliasingQuality=3
sg.ShadowQuality=3
sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality=3
sg.ReflectionQuality=3
sg.PostProcessQuality=3

open windows command prompt as admin and type: sfc /scannow

If it finds and corrects any corrupted files, reboot your pc.

Thank you. I’m using CeossOver on the iMac so I’m not sure I can run windows commands on it.

I’m also able to edit all the graphic settings in Manor Lords so I’m hoping it could be solved there
