Farm Fields are bugged
Fields automatically reset (regardless of amount of goods sitting in inventory) upon September Month rollover. Causing 100's of goods quantity to disappear.

Additionally it's possible to have fields at 20% crop growth in December with snow on the ground. Hopefully some adjustment will take place soon.

For anyone struggling to make farms and farming work, the game recommends at least 1.0 Morgen of area per field, I would recommend staying as close to that amount as possible, preferably on the smaller side. Just make more when you're ready for increased production.

Bigger farms take too long to work through as referenced by my two full (8 families per) farmhouses that couldn't work through a 4.2 Morgen fast enough to Plow, Sow, Grow, and harvest (including actual inventory pickup after harvest completion) before September rolled around and deleted the entire field's inventory to reset it's management screen.

I've also found that building Burgage plots around (or inside) areas you plan to farm in helps reduce travel time for workers. Unsure if the game is capable of prioritizing which free family gets a job based on House location, ~~ Dev if you read this please make this a thing :) ~~

Yup, I saw that too. All yeld lost and replow in november like i didnt had a harvest...
Don't have your fields at 4.2 morgen, thats way to large, you are better off having smaller fields
I was wondering why all my plowing and sowing in October got reset when I reached March...
I havent encountered this issue yet my harvests have all been good. But what I did notice was fields getitng plowed automatically.
I got a field down, then got 2 more around it and woosh they got plowed just by themselfs. Pretty neat, gonna make a bug report about that tho.
ohh that explains why all my crops just disappeared. LAME! that was game over
You can partially mitigate this with multiple farm houses. For 5 fields around 1.2 in size each i have 3 farm houses with 4-5 families each. This allows additional heavy ploughs and i noticed they were able to pickup way more product before it got lost. My yields went up by a noticable margin.
This happened to my on my first year, but then every year after that seemed to be ok, trick is (as others have said) to not overload the farm house with fields and use the heavy plough. Villagers seem to want to plough and seed the fields before winter so that seems to be whats causing the loss but after your first year it worked properly for me and i didnt lose a harvest
