Bows just sitting there
I setup a trade route for war bows but no one is collecting them. Not a single trader has gathered one. I have a full militia of bowmen but still 23 warbows hanging out. I had to turn off the bowyer because they kept taking all my planks. But even before then, no one was collecting bows. Any ideas? I have 3 families in the trade depot. They grab shoes and dyes and herbs but not bows.

They have bowphobia maybe.
Did you open a trade route to trade them. It cost money.
Set the import or export to the left in the trading menu.

I did set one up. And I had it at Export. But nothing was happening so I set to trade all with a surplus limit of 1 to see if that does anything.

Maybe it's bugged then.

Does your warehouse have it?
I haven't tested, but I think if it isn't in the warehouse your traders are not going to retrieve it elsewhere. So you may need to assign more families to the warehouse to shuffle the goods.

Currently upgrading the warehouse. I will assign more families to it to see if that helps.

Update: it didn't help. I think it's just bugged

i can sell bows but cannot recruit spearmen, no matter how i try to import shields and spears. They never arrive even though i have coin

I was able to sell 90 bows in a matter of minutes.

I have an upgraded storehouse with max families. Trader building has 3 families assigned to it including horses. Its super slow to trade unless you have animals helping.

Update: not a single military item will trade. Spears, sidearms, bows, either shield, nothing. I have 3 families in the trade depot and full families in the upgraded store house with 2 horses for the trade depot. It now stocks the items in the trade depot but the trader won't take them out.

Must be a bug.

Had the same issue, solved it by
1. adding a family
2. switching from export to full trade
That did the trick, but I'm not sure if one or both measures did it.

PSA: This is not a bug; this is intended. Streamers and YouTubers found an exploit by only producing cheap weapons like warbows. So, we now have a mechanic of market saturation. If you take a look at your trade route, you will see on the right-hand side an arrow and a price. If you sell too many weapons in a short amount of time (basically as soon as you start selling them), you will flood the market and nobody will buy any weapons. This is reflected in the tooltip of the arrows on the right saying something like "Overabundance of goods, NO EXPORTS!"

That's why you won't sell any bows (weapons). For now, you should stop producing weapons as soon as you have them for your army and the market is flooded or your storehouse is full. And i want to add i find it hilarious that two fletchers can flood the global bow market.

However, there is still the mystery of "surplus," as it seems it only takes goods into account that are stored, not the ones that are already in the homes of your people. This is especially important for weapons as this means you can basically sell to a surplus of 0, as this means no spare weapons lying around. But this is not proven information.

Nope, never ever sold one bow and the market value was not depressed.

Nope that isn't the problem.

Having the same issue, can't seem to sell warbows even though i have a trade route set up, loads of Warbows and supply at average with 2 family's at the trade point.

And at what state is your global market cap?
