Mercenaries not available anymore

Loving the game so far and reporting what I think is a bug.
I pressed a claim, hoping to call mercenaries, but after the enemy brought out his army, I found out I couldn't call mercenaries anymore(the screen read: "no more mercenary companies available this month). So I just waited it out, I didn't want to waste troops on a battle I couldn't win. I Lost the battle after the countdown got to 0, and so far it's been probably 2 years and no mercenary companies are showing up in the recruitment page.

I dont think that's the case, I tried to hire the mercenaries before declaring war and they also didn't appear

I am having this issue as well. When the mercs die the game still thinks you have them and money is still sent to their group.

No more Mercs for me+
Not sure how many years, but i have 3 towns, and after the seconds it stopped. So probably a few year.

Also i only ever had the Archer Mercs to buy, no others. (1 Light + 1 heavy archer group as one merc).

Such a shame, i like the game alot but i cant progress without out merceneries. Ive done about 3 playtroughs and it happend in all of them. The enemy takes a massive ♥♥♥♥ on my doorstep and theres nothing i can do about it.

It seems to be a year round issue. Not just when a battle begins. I was preparing to take back a region I had lost for 2 years. I checked every single month to see if there were any mercenaries and never once did the mercenaries become available for hire.

Despite this, I had no choice but to attack and made my declaration. Once the battle started, lo and behold, the off-map AI forces spawned on the edge of the map and the AI had all three mercenary companies roll in whit his militia.

The off-map AI hordes the mercenaries and never realeases them to give you an opportunity to hire any. I have a theory though, there may be a way to hire mercenaries again but you must defeat them on the battlefield.

EDIT: Just won the battle to take back my territory and the mercenacy units are still not available.

I just figured out you can only have 6 sets of troops max. so if you have 3 spears, 2 bows and your retinue you cant hire any mercs.

Same. The end battle is after Ive taken everyone but 1 spot. My army is 3 sets of 24 rev, and 3 sets of 36 others. The enemy always has 9x36 units. Its just impossible, and theres never any mercs to hire in my game , I checked all year, they'er just gone

Besides the Problems ya had. I tried on the Mercs Archievement and it seems everytime the "NPC Lord" engages Bandits he buys off 1 Army that never gets to be avaible again. So I dun see how I could buy them so he wont? Pay them all the time till I am ready is way to early in the game. I never faced the issue that the Mercs I bought didnt Appear and since I only can buy the bowmen I never had then be defeated. but it was the basic difficultly with less aggression and alotta time to Build up. Do you guys get any other Group Avaible in later years in your savegames besides those 2 Bowman dudes?

I'm on my third attempt at the same achievement and I think you are right. I just saw the guy but the "Flock of crazy geese" band then walked them off the map only to never be seen again. I think the AI isn't "disbanding" them as a result they are never popping up again.

you have to disband them or they wont repawn

I have the same problem. I only used mercenaries. After a certain time, none can be hired. The game keeps saying that there are new mercenaries on offer, but it doesn't actually offer any units.
