Feel better you got that of your chest ?
for example syx: one step away from playing excel
Ostriv: pure city builder
banished: probs my most disliked city builder, no idea why, just never could get into it. It is also a pure city builder.
Both ostriv and banished look also alot slower paced, which i do not enjoy.
Most of the issues with manor lord are early access related. game litterly just lunched.
Just thought would be a good discussion. Do you have a personal relationship with this game that means you cannot process critical discussion of it?
I know. I just thought there might be some basis on this one. I don't think this is a bad game at all, i just cannot believe the hype surrounding it after playing it for a coiuple of hours.
For what it's worth I agree completely. It has this strong "Ostriv but worse" vibe to it.
It's definitely overhyped and needed more time in the oven, not to mention a better vision, because the current gameplay loop is just not satisfying.
It's that case when a game tries to sit on too many chairs at once but ends up falling clumsily to the floor.
You'll probably note a lot of content creators either violently trashing the game to get eyeballs, or making wild and sensational positive claims to get eyeballs. Go figure.
it's so sad how gamers have accepted "early access" as a thing
i remember when it was expected to be buying an actually finished game. maybe i'm old but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i hate you kids
It was never something groundbreaking, it just has a lot of promising ideas that isn't completed/polished yet - burgage plots & extensions, total war-esque battles, and beautiful graphics. Personally I got what I expected system-wise, just a bit more buggy than I expected, but then again, it's in EA.
Also comparing this to Songs of Syx is crazy when they are going for completely different scales and macro.
what is the point of this comment?
Overall, things should happen faster.
While game looks nice, it simply lacks action.
