Its not a bad game by any meaning, but somehow i never got warm with it, no clue why but i found it rather frustrating most of the time.
This one here looks even better (FF is a beauty as well) and feels super immersive, never saw such a thing before.
More content FF, more relaxing ML i would say.
However both games are still quite barebones, especially ML you will hit an hard wall after probably 20 hours of game play.
But, in terms of atmosphere and visuals, ML is definitely more appealing.
Farthest Frontier isnt on game pass but Manor Lords is
here's what you can do
you get a month of Gamepass and play Manor Lords for a month
or you straight up buy Farthest Frontier on Steam, play it before 2 hours mark, and if you dont like it, you can refund your purchase, wait for your money returns up to Steam wallet then use it for Manor Lords
You can go 1st person and actually do stuff. Plus. I find the graphics a bit better, has a day/night cycle etc etc.
ML however has tech tree geared towards specialization versus just upgrading every thing by tier 1-4, it's more immersive graphically with being able to zoom in and go third person, and so far it runs better which is surprising! Idk what sorcery Slavic was able to pull off with his coding. Combat will also probably be better in ML once I get there. Edit: The tech and policy trees are only 50% complete. Still a ways to go.
ML has win conditions and antagonist apparently, depending on settings. FF is more of a sandbox with raiding indefinitely.
FF has more map variety and the random generation of seeds. I've restarted my map already in ML and noticed things were not exactly the same. So there is some RNG as well, just not in such a high degree. As others have state though.. FF has been much out longer, with a larger team. ML does have place holders for more maps in game. So just needs time to catch up in that aspect.
Betterness is subjective.. more content goes to FF (at the time of this post) More fun for relax.. hmm, equal.
