1.0 Release Date?
Hi,
I've already bought the game since I liked the early access discount, but I won't play it until 1.0. I usually do this for early access games, e.g. I waited 2 years before playing BG3 after buying it.
What I'd like to know is, has the developer outlined roughly when he expects to release this game fully, at 1.0?
I don't mind waiting 1-3 years, but anything over 3 years would be excessive in my opinion.

It said the EA would last about a year so I asume next year.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We might remain in Early Access for around a year, but that might change depending on how the design develops with player feedback.”

Nice, a year is pretty short. I'll wait until 2025 then.

lol. devs always write "1 year" when they go into early access. and then invariably 4 years later it's still not ready for full release.

1 year seems very optimistic

Yup, 'scope creep' kicks in, and that "1 year" can turn into many, many more. Is probably better to go with the mindset of "it's gonna be in EA for 3~6 years" and then less chance of disappointment. If that seems "too long", then probably better to delay purchase until more confident / satisfied that the title will reach a "completed" state.

Tarkov is still in EA ^^

I don’t support early access at all anymore. I have been burned by developers not releasing a finished product or a janky product after years and years in development. I have also been burned by scope creep. Scope creep is the dreaded enemy of project management.

I will wishlist this title. If it releases out or early access I will consider buying.

Nobody should pay for early access games. Its very bad for gaming. Lets hope they continue build even tho they already got paid.

The dev stated in one of the last news, that they will work and patch BUT ( after 2 lessons learned so far ) they will not give a ETA or roadmap again.

They constantly work on it and that is it.

Simply read their posts.

2h testing time - enough to enjoy or not.

Only because you bought bad EA games from shady devs... i mean. I bought only EA titles from well known smaller studios and they all turned out good.

So you actually fell for crazy marketing ♥♥♥♥ and your own FOMO. o_O

I consider it to be a reduced price early preorder. I'd rather pay now and get a 20% discount than wait for release. That is, if I know I'll be interested in the game at 1.0, and I like medieval stuff so I think that applies here.

Everyone had their own view on early access. I get it can be used as a tool to support them financially, but it can also be abused to get money up front to release something promised but didn’t deliver. This is my opinion.

There are plenty of examples for both. The key issue with early access in some ways is that "financial support", as long as there's that slow steady dip-feed of money coming in, there's much less impetus / financial need to get the game done and out the door. It becomes a cycle of updates to keep the project alive / interest alive, but there's no hard deadline.

Getting a little off-topic here, however I do wonder with some of these titles that sit in EA for multiple years (4+), if/when they actually do reach v1.0, how many 'more' copies of the game are sold (after maybe the initial 2 week release bubble)? Thinking by the time v1.0 gets done, nearly everyone who interested in the game have maybe already bought it.
