BETA Patch Test 0.7999: Weird Taxation Penalty
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3332711801
I just noticed something weird in my BETA Test Game.

I was curious why I'd not had any new families join my thriving small town and noticed that the Approval Rating had dropped below 50%. I was curious as I am only charging 10% Tax and was told the penalty would be 15%, which it had been for some time and had not been any problem for my Approval.

But when I checked I noticed that the Previous Month showed that I had been penalised 31% for Taxation. More than double the amount quoted on the Taxation Panel.

So, WTF is going on?

Is this yet another attempt to screw the players over by making the game unplayable or is it just a stupid bug?

Just to add even more confusion to the situation I went to the Taxation Panel and switch the Tax off and back on again. And guess what it turns out that this is yet another ill-conceived idea that can be by-passed by the Roy Trenneman solution to everything.

Switching the Tax OFF AND Back ON AGAIN reset the Approval Penalty to 14 %.

So, all the player has to remember is that the Dev's are idiots and that they have to switch their Tax OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN at the start of every month.

I'm going to report this as a bug and sincerely hope it is.

Your insolence angers Manlord.

no this rage shows addicted to manor lords, and a compliment for the dev's
its still AE and worth it.

The game was essentially developed by Grzegorz “Greg” Styczeń ALONE over a period of seven years.

MY RESPECT

"Is this yet another attempt to screw the players over by making the game unplayable or is it just a stupid bug?" You just can't make this stuff up hahah

If you wanna make it better, download the unreal engine.
Its a free developer environment to download.
Make a toutorial, and make the grafics for house and animations too.
Never mind the Coding.
And have look what you will have done in 1 Year alone.

For these animition you have to buy Labor from GraficDesigners an so on.

this game is fully playable, just a bit of brain needed, and thats what i want, and i want more contents.
Sure, there are some bugs, but no reason to get in rage.

Still plenty to come.. The game files have plenty of unreleased content. Amazing game and with the mod community behind the game, it will give it a long life.

I don't know about the others, but I got it.

And yes, there is a lot in this game that can be fixed that way.

Exactly! I makes no sense when the solution to the ridiculous tax penalty is just to switch it off and back on again. Quite apart from the fact that I suspect the accumulating Approval Penalty is actually a bug. I certainly don't remember it happening in any of my past games not even those on Challenging Difficulty. It seems to be something new to patch 0.799.

Just simply REPORT the issue then, instead of blowing off and making yourself look stupid. Patch 0.799 beta pre-release. BETA, Meaning- "stage of development" - a nearly complete prototype of a product (such as software). Understand? or perhaps your are having trouble, just like us mere mortals when you chat about Roy Trenneman. Be better just to REPORT it the correct way? yes/no????

No! How would I be able to test the game if I was modding it?

For the record: Roy Tenneman was a character in Channel Four's "The IT Crowd" whose response to every caller to his tech helpline was "Try turning it off and then back on again."

Great show that and Chris O'Dowd was one of the reasons why.

still having the same issue. I have tried out taxation, then moved it back to 0. However even months later it shows an approval loss of -11
(the current month shows the correct value but last month is wrong all the time)
