Army Customization

In some of the Manor Lords videos/trailers, you can see the customization for the Lord's retinue, like the elite troops you have and can fully deck out how you want to.

What about for other troops, like militia or pikes?
I know based off a post on Reddit in 2020 the dev made, he said he experimented with all units being customizable and it having balance issues, but will they still be customizable at least cosmetically (like you choosing how they look, what's displayed on their shields, etc)

Just wondering since there aren't too many specifics I've seen on it.

No you don't customize those. Except the fact that based on the tier of villagers they are (corresponding to their burgage's tier), they will wear a higher or lower level of armor.

So you are going to be Smithing Equipment. Like Swords and Armour, which you are going to equip your Retinue with? But if you have 0 Armour and Weapons and you call to Arms Tier 4 Villagers, are they going to have good equipment? Like does the Militia equipment automatically come with the villagers or are they just going to take parts of your equipment pool based on their lvl and what you have?

Retinue has their own stuff because they're professsional soldiers.

If you have nothing and you call to arms T3 people (T4 isn't done yet), they will be using the same things as a T1 villager would (aka no armor, helmet, and a basic weapon). You do get a small shipment of equipment at the start of the game if you turn on that setting, but otherwise you have nothing else. So yes, if you have the stuff that T3 villagers need, they will prioritize using it, and if not, they are the same as any other villager without equipment.
