Fun Game but...
I enjoy the game but having a restricted amount of deer and berries in each zone is kinda lame for starting out. Food goes to fast this way. I have noticed that the best starting zone is the one with fish and/or deer, berries. Never a zone with all three which sucks.

You don't get all three because fish and berries are mutually exclusive.

And either one will sustain your population initially until you bring your other food sources into production.

You can also set your starting parameters to give double supplies at the start, which will get you 40 bread right at the beginning.

Look around this forum, and you will find plenty has been written on feeding your people. I'd suggest you start here -- https://steamcommunity.com/app/1363080/discussions/0/4362376656109218457/

As for me, my favorite is rich fish and fertile soil. Your people can live off fish until your vegetables and wheat kick in, then you have three good food sources.

Yeah. I usually plant veggies in my first 5 homes then build up planks to sell so i can get orchards, goats, pigs, and chickens. I usually don't do wheat and such til after i have a good supply of the other foods.

Food i rarely a problem when u have played for awhile. Even do i agree meat can be a shortage unless u pick extended meat production perk, trapping and sheeps. But if u have rich fish and double that with perk, u have enough to export as much u like. Bread is easy in many ways. either with rye or baker perk. Even without u produce enough for a large city on bad soil. Honey is also a good perk if u know the technicue to make it work. Vegetables is awsome. Developer has to do something with the eggs, he reduced it to much. so it produce so little that it`s hardly worth it. Apples are like sheeps god but don`t give u much before 3-4 years later. And u drowning in wool and your traders are busy to sell wool cheap instead of what u earn money on.

Looks like you need to learn a bit more about food production in Manor Lords:

stuck on villagers that dont wanna go make planks or do any wc.. cant build anything or upgrade anything and that after sacrificed everything for clothes lol. feels like its broken or somethin.
Sounds like you have a shortage of oxen.

If you assign an ox to the saw pit, plank production should speed up.
