when it is ready for the open beta play test branch.

I don't mind the delay as much as I mind the teasing, then taking months to deliver.

Just give us a heads up a couple of weeks prior, why announce it on March and have nothing to show for by May ?

Let`s hope the update who is hopefully coming before summer is really good. There are more and more that become frustrated by the rear updates. Let`s hope it speed up now that he has a team.

tbh the points mentioned for the next update(s) are not overwhelming at all, at least from „my“ city builder view. Not sure if the AI villages will add any value. And stone castle looks a bit better than the wooden one. But i miss gamplay additions, meaning more goods, more buildings and more development points/laws.
And i hope the upkeep will be de-selectable like spoilage.

some of you need to just wait till the game is finished and released in 2026.

This game is in Early Development, hence the Early Access for players to watch the development of this game.

He is slowly adding more game play and features when possible, but the base / early portion of the game needs set in stone and all the bugs worked out first. Once that is done, and the base game play mechanics are working, then the remaining mid and late game play and features can be added in.

Remember most of these delays are caused by players wanting changes to parts of the base mechanics of the game play. That creates a problem that then effects other portions of the base game play and mechanics. So that has to be changed, fixed, re coded etc.

Some parts of the basic game play mechanics just didn't work, and are now being totally reworked.

Just relax people, and remember this is a unfinished game, that is still in early development and not yet released. He was nice enough to grant us Early Access to view and play the game in all of the various Open Beta pre releases, and the Early Access Stable branch releases. You just need to have patience, or just wait till the game is finished and fully released version 1.0.000 sometime in 2026.

If you think he owes anyone anything because you decided to purchase an unfinished game, still in early development, you are wrong. No one forced you to purchase the Early Access. Re-read the Big Warning Blue Box that is on the store page.

When the next open beta play test version is ready to leave Closed Beta Testing and QA, it will be posted.. This is a big change in game mechanics and game play. So give it time, it will be out soon enough.

Let`s say u buy a movie in 2 parts. But only part one is finish. U pay for both parts and somebody (like u) says the moviemaker don`t own u anything because he said the part 2 was not done yet!!!! Everybody who buy this game know it is early access, but that does not mean the developer has no obligations. Everybody know it takes time, but absolutly everybody who have bought the game have the right to a opinion in every aspect of the game!

It does actually. Steam tells you that the game may not develop further, you have 0 rights to expect a finished game legally.
When? Well, to be honest, the dev team is small, even tho the dev said they're expanding. This game is one of a kind, and, while I know I and you are anxious for an update, we must wait. It'll come when it comes. At least this isn't a Bannerlord situation, where we wait literally over a decade for EA and then underdeliver and squander the potential. This game will be, when finished, will be the bees knees.

non-exclusive license is about trust and can be terminated by the copyright owner at any moment, you may have an opinion, but you can't sue and you have no rights if a developer doesn't deliver what you expect to get, and yes the developer has no obligations (only a name to loose)

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. If they don't show any news for a couple of months, the forum is full of screeching whiners who scream "This game is dead!"

If they show news but also tell us to wait until it's ready, they get nice messages like yours.

It's a lose/lose situation.

No, that had nothing to do with being nice. It brought in cash he needs to deliver the game he wants to deliver. This is a massive project that requires serious funding due to the ambitions.

I agree with the posters here that it would be better to announce an update closer to release. Otherwise this just leads to frustration, which is in nobodys interest.

Ultimatly people expect what is shown in the artwork: Buing able to build a huge city with city walls, a big castle and a cathedral. That is the expectation the developer himself set.

And I trust he will achieve this. This game has the potential to become the historical GOAT citybuilder.

Absolutly no one have talked about sueing anybody! Nobody has talked about any legal complications! People in this fora has just expressed their opinion. And since u answer, u answer to that opinion and said the developer don`t own u anything. Like everything in life u buy stuff at free will. Nobody force u to buy, that dosn`t mean they have lost the right to a opinion. I think u are confused with the terms legal vs. right. And he will most likely loose more than his reputation if a game is abanded. Not easy to come back with a new early access to steam then. But he will not do that since he has now a 11 man team beside him!

You have no rights to demand updates from a game that is not even released. It is in early development.... that is the point.
It feels like some people *want* the game to fail. Just chill and be patient, no one has abandoned anything.
