Do I need to fortify my Manor house?
Battles with the other Lord take place "somewhere", not at my Manor, so far at least. I currently have raiders deactivated - would they attack the Manor?
Otherwise I don't see a reason to build walls, except for the looks.
Am I missing something?

Even if enemy troops do not currently attack your manor by themselves, you can still kite (lure) them to your manor with a unit of archers (best unit for kiting), if you want to use fortifications to your advantage.

Battlefields for territorial disputes also seem to spawn in the same location every time. So once you know the location of a battlefield circle for a certain territory, you may decide to build your manor exactly there and use it for defense.

Fortified manors DO work. Some enemy soldiers might still squeeze "through" the walls, though... it IS early access, after all. And the manor construction stuff is very unfinished. They are still effective force multipliers, especially for ranged units:
