IDP.Generic on game file
Tried to start the game (Beta version) but got an error message saying a file is missing. Turns out my AV (Avast) put the file in quarantine and says it's an IDP.Generic. Trying to figure out if it's a false positive or something I should worry about. Anyone had this issue and figured it out? I can try reinstalling the game.. but from what I've read, people already tried this and the same problem occurred either way.

I have Norton 360 and also I cannot launch the game, because I get a threat in file ManorLords-Win64-Shipping.exe and info that it was infected IDP.Generic

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and now I can't even install it again.
I also use Norton

Greetings,

It's most likely a 'false positive" as it's a new item that has just been released and not many users or antivirus programs have seen it before.

See here:
What is IDP generic?
IDP. Generic is 'Identity Protection', so when a security application detects a threat called IDP. Generic, it indicates that it was detected by this component (Identity Protection), which generalized a detected file. This detection is often a 'false positive' and is not tied to a specific virus signature.

You can actually go into your antivirus program and set it to "allow".
Or retrieve it from the quarantine folder.

I also run Norton and had no problems with the Beta patch update. Insure that your "definitions" are "up to date". As I check mine every few days.
- Both Norton and Spybot.
