Empty Village after update
I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback about my experience with Manor Lords, particularly regarding the tax system and its impact on village dynamics. When I raised taxes to the maximum level of 100%, I noticed that the villagers started to leave in droves, which was pretty frustrating. It’s understandable that high taxes would drive people away, but what really caught me off guard was the fact that they left behind all the livestock, especially the sheep. It created this bizarre situation where I was left with an ever-expanding sheep population, but no villagers to manage or interact with. It felt like a strange twist in the gameplay that didn’t quite align with the overall experience.

After realizing the villagers had abandoned the town, I decided to lower the taxes back to a more reasonable level, hoping to entice them back. However, I encountered a significant issue: the villagers simply wouldn’t return, no matter what I did. This left me in a bit of a bind, as I was effectively soft-locked in the game. I had this massive flock of sheep, but without any villagers, I couldn’t progress or develop my town further. It’s a frustrating situation that really hampers the gameplay experience, especially when you’re trying to build and expand your village. I found myself stuck in a loop, unable to move forward while watching my sheep population grow uncontrollably.

I really hope the developers take a look at this issue because it’s impacting the enjoyment of the game. It would be great to see a fix that allows villagers to return after taxes are adjusted, or at least some way to manage the sheep population without being completely locked out of progression. I love the concept of Manor Lords and the depth it offers, but these kinds of gameplay mechanics can really detract from the overall experience. I urge the team to address this problem as soon as possible, as it would make a world of difference for players like me who are eager to dive deeper into the game without these frustrating roadblocks.

P.S.: The church bell rings even though there are no villagers left. Please fix this oversight. It breaks my immersion.
Hm, did you keep the sheep population growing even more after 380 mark in your screenshot or did you give up on the save? Because for some reason the "uncontrollable sheep population" in a ghost town sounds pretty funny, considering what the game's about. :happycrank:

So it's New Zealand now?

Give sheep citizenship and tax them.

In the vast realm of Manor Lords, where the player, referred to here as Stanley, finds himself in a peculiar predicament, the mechanics of taxation have taken a rather unfortunate turn. Upon raising taxes to a staggering 100%, the villagers, understandably distressed by the financial burden, promptly vacated the town. In their hasty departure, they left behind a rather alarming number of sheep, which now roam the empty streets, bleating in a chorus of abandonment. This sudden exodus not only stripped the village of its populace but also left Stanley with an overwhelming surplus of livestock, a situation that is as comical as it is frustrating.
In an attempt to rectify this dire situation, Stanley decided to lower the taxes to more reasonable levels, hoping to entice the villagers back to their homes. However, the game, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that once the villagers have left, they shall not return, no matter how inviting the conditions may be. This oversight has effectively soft-locked Stanley in a scenario where he is surrounded by an ever-expanding flock of sheep, with no means to progress the game. The once-thriving village now stands as a testament to poor fiscal policy, and Stanley is left to ponder the absurdity of his predicament.
With a sense of urgency, Stanley feels compelled to voice his frustrations to the developers of Manor Lords. It is imperative that they address this glaring issue, as it not only hampers gameplay but also detracts from the overall experience. The inability to restore the village to its former glory due to a simple tax-related blunder is a flaw that demands immediate attention. Stanley urges the developers to implement a fix posthaste, lest future players find themselves ensnared in a similar web of sheep-related chaos, forever trapped in a cycle of taxation and abandonment.

P.S. The Houses that house animals are still producing "meat" until the storage is full but who is butchering those animals.

I hope the developers work on all the features and bugs that aren't so far off base that no one, even in their unbalanced mind, would ever think of doing or think it would be beneficial. I say, put this issue on the todo list for late 2030. I can live with that. If you set taxes to 100%, expect the worst. Gez!
Ok all jokes aside, walking the humble town of Chernfurt at night hearing nothing but distant BAHHHHING is kind of a mood and I was wondering if there could be a kind of survival-horror-City builder added to the game.
Tbh I don't think that it needs to be in release but it could theoretically be added in a later update ( I really don't have any references for other games because something like this might have never been done before!)

Night of the living sheep type stuff halloween updates and all that jazz!

PS:
The sheep breeding rate seems to be about 10% until 650 is reached then it's fixed at around 65-ish.
It might be interesting to move sheeps to pastures manually

If the issue is the sheep being unable to take on the tasks that villagers would normally do and go on as a village fully populated by sheep, then I 100% agree this is something the dev should work for.

the breeding rate really is fixed even after 1500 sheep there will be no more than 69 lambs.
One child policy or something ....

PS. IF YOU ENTER CINEMATIC MODE AND PRESS ESC TO OPEN MENU THE CURSO DISAPPEARS.
FIX IT NOW ( very urgent thanks :)))))

Sounds about right. Very realistic game.

Ok I'm really struggling to tell if the OP is serious. I don't want to point out the obvious, but if you are serious, like someone else mentioned, this should be at the very bottom of a very long list of things that need to be fixed/adjusted/added to this game. I mean it is actually very realistic in what would happen in an actual town with a 100% tax rate. What did you think would happen?
