How is the game now in 2025?
Apologies if this is a common topic, I didn't see anything in the first several pages, and didn't see anything searching either.

I played a tiny bit shortly after initial release, but I got distracted by... something, I can't remember. It's been uninstalled for some time due to disk space management, but I'm sick and stuck at home for the next few days and was thinking of coming back.

So, how is the game doing in 2025? More content, surely, better QoL, worth revisiting? I remember when I first played it that it felt a lot like Banished, which had a very short gameplay loop that became very tedious and repetitive after not very much time playing.

I think this game is great looks and runs great. Its def limited in content an has some QoL issues but nothing game breaking or too annoying that it would stop me from playing. I will say the new region in the mountians is super easy to get food and a good city going. However being limited you have to fight the other lord alot sooner then normal which is annoying at times. That being said the games still really fun and satisfying, honestly its perfect for being sick just focus on getting as much food in rotation as possible fishing seems to be the best atm

A lot of cool new features, but Its buggy as hell currently, after about 2-3 hours this is the list:
- workers not finishing buildings, getting stuck with a piece of construction material somewhere
- miners not gathering any clay altough visually mining
- warehouses workers just idling for no reason (gamebraking)
- hunters laying traps on other end of the region, stalling production in the meantime(not a bug per se, but annoying anyways)

Personally, I would say watch either the latest TactiCat stream:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxXt4ETgHP8

or ThisLadyPlays Stream:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNQLjzv8FqA

(Depending on your preference)

I like them both and both are playing on the latest patches available now. That shows you how to play currently and you can see all the things the game currently has to offer.

Game feels good, but be honest, in more than a year, the difference is not great between first version and now. It really lacks of content and the dev seems so slow... A bit disappointed by the patch frequency : pretty sure some devs could be hired with all the games being solds.
New horizons in EA development -- In 2025, we are all playing the buggy-ass beta version, whether we want to or not.

Great game with plenty of new content, but if you don’t want to end up throwing your monitor out the window, I’d recommend skipping it for now and waiting for a patch with fixes.
Still not worth it. Came back looking for improvements and feel like everything went backwards...

4 Major updates and still the game is not playable. Basic logistics are still not working well. Unbelievable!

The game is great. Yes, there are bugs, but nothing game-breaking. I’ve been playing the beta for 20+ hours and am really enjoying it.

Greetings,

Just insure you have access to at least 11.78 GB of disk space. Current game size.

- For version 0.8.024 main stable branch
Thanks guys, appreciate it!

almost everything is better than it was, except for markets which just became very boring, mechanically and visually

To many Bugs..and kinda boring after some Hours of gameplay it needs a real city gameplay loop, a bigger town in center which gets food and materials from the villages. With a much better trading system and more buildings for the town center

My man the game is about a year old from a solo dev while its in EA idk what you expected lol The games playable and fun once you learn to just work around the problems. I just started a new manor maybe a day or two ago im already surplussed in food and my pop is nearly 100 using other villages to bring supplies is pretty easy. You build a small town with just the basics to keep approval up an just rinse the resources from the place, I just wish I could send man power or combine both regions into one fluid land mass. Give the game a break is fairly new, super small dev team and an ambitious idea give it a chance

Much improved and well worth revisiting. YMMV on the markets but for me at least they are better. I especially didn't like micro-managing the market stalls and logistics. That aspect plays much smoother now.
