Does size of extension slot affect output?
When setting up a burgage plot I always try to make it so you have two houses and a extension slot. But to make it work with two houses have to make the extension really small. But do the size of the extension affect the food produced of vegetables, eggs, apples?

(Mental note do not upgrade a slot with two houses to artisans because end up with two cobblers)

Chickens and Goats have no size of backyard extension affect.

Apples, Vegetables, size does effect output and time needed to harvest.

????????? -- No you don't. Just make the whole burgage wider and deeper.

Be aware that according to the patch notes the Kings Tax is based upon the number of families in your settlement. Whereas Regional Wealth is based upon the number of burgages. So, a double burgage plot actually doubles your kings tax commitment without increasing your Regional Wealth. It also follows that if the extra family is not contributing anything to Regional Wealth they they are simply a tax burden on your settlement. So, make sure the extra family is needed and productive.

Double house and LARGE expansion plot is a good way to make "farmsteads". Leave both houses unassigned and they can be your builders inbetween working the "fields" as needed.

This is how to optimize the ratio between plot size and output for double housed burgage plots with orchards or gardens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhfU5WLB3RA&t=3s
