Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime
Recently whenever I go to play this game, it asks me to install this before it runs. It's already installed and has been since I bought the game in April/May time.

If I say no, the game never starts.

If I say yes, it goes to install but it recognises that it's installed already, and instead asks me to uninstall. I do so and then it work. The next time I go to play, it asks to install. I do, and then it works.... this is getting ridiculous. Any fixes please, devs? This is an issue with the game, not my setup. Please don't advise me to touch my registry or anything ridiculously far fetched...

It seems the dev has put a requirement on the game to look for XXX version of the runtime files, but it has failed to package the correct ones. So when the game notices it has the wrong files, it proceeds to install the only package it has available each time. In a loop. The above official microsoft files has now fixed this infinite loop of rookie-error.

Thanks! This got my game running again for me. ( after the latest update it stopped loading due to the runtime error. ) While I still have to give the game "permission to make changes" on start up atleat it actually plays again.
Didn't work for me. Downloaded file linked. Said it was already installed. UnInstalled it, installed it again. Same problem, game won't load. Kindda irritating!

Same here. Very frustrating. Want to like this game and give it a go. Guess it was a money sink.

Greetings,

If you go to the "programs and features" on your "control panel" you will see the C++ installs. Or Apps and features.

There could be both the X86 and the X64 installs for different years.

- If you need the X64 there should be
2 for 2005
2 for 2008
1 for 2010
1 for 2012
2 for 2013
and 2 for 2015-2022

If you have some older programs that needed the X86 installs there will be both.

X86 installs;
2005 x 2
2010 x 2
2012 x 2
2013 x 2
2015-2022 x 1

As an example; I have 19 different installs of C++ for all the years.

You can also see them using "RUN" command and enter appwiz.cpl

Thank you for the info. I have all that you mentioned and then some. Not sure what this does for me.
