started a new game just one town and build it and got the achevement so you probably have to do it with FIRST ORIGINAL TOWN
Challenge Accepted Next then.
only 0.6% have managed that one.
Yes, it needs to be your first town. And you can only get the achievement if you do not modify any starting conditions. You must play one of the premade standard scenarios without any modifications.
But here's where I see a possible wrinkle -- The Merchant achievement specifies that the player must grow to a small town without using either hunting or berries. In my game, I've got fish. And not just a small pond of fish, a whopping big rich pond.
The achievement says nothing about fish.
What does the learned council think will happen? Fish -- Yea or Nay for the Merchant Achievement.
Stay tuned. This game rolled rich fish and rich iron, and they are sitting right next to the starting camp. And even though I don't have fertile soil, there is a nice little patch of ++ green just north of the fish, enough for at least 6 fields. It's a sweet start no matter how you dice it.
Also, it's not just the first town that counts. If you start harvesting berries and deer in 2nd or 3rd region it will ruin the achievement progress too.
2 Tailors...1 Gambons and Imported dyes for 1 Cloak
Built 15 Goat Burgs for Hides and have 1 Tannery
Bread, Fish and Veggies
Hope this helps.
I usually import Malt simply because it's only a silver or two dearer than barley and avoids the need to build and resource a Malt-House.
On my 1st attempt i did just that...but the barley sacks just sat unused. Even w/a Malthouse and 2 Brewers.
But its moot now
ed-And that map was only good for the Achieve. No Berries, No Iron, the Salt was sold ages ago, and i was running outta Clay
The problem seems particularly common with the Ale supply chain and you will find loads of players complaining about Barley, Malt or Ale being left to rot in the Trade Depot. One day the Dev's might actually sort the problem out. but for now we just need to live with it.
