Some pics show 4-5 ponds on a map, whereas the only ones I've seen spawn in the other dude's territory.
I was also thinking that they might spawn and despawn at random like you said. Maybe that's my problem.
The Ponds are still in there "testing" stage.
- many elements still being worked on about fish or shoal size and catch rates.
- Re-spawn rates, consumption rates for population, and spoilage being modified for the next patch.
as read on the Discord posts, and from the Developer who is working on this. Darren.
The mention of being able to "create" the ponds is historically correct,
- many Manors built small ponds for a quick supply if fish for celebrations or feasts.
- They had workers assigned to them for keeping the pond supplied and clean.
Larger ponds were common in small villages and towns, some were naturally formed others built. Both used fish from local fresh water supplies to keep the ponds viable and provide this close location as a food source through the year.
