Church + Walking distance
Hello,

Still love this game, even with the current (hunter) bug.

I do have a question. I thought I would be smart by decreasing walking time, but seems it backfired and people walk past the church that is around the corner and go to the next one. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

That you don't really need two churches?

Greetings,

Are you saying you built 2 church's?
- If yes, then it's been noticed that this game likes to have most elements go to or find the "default" location as the primary location.
- Even with a second item constructed, say a closer storehouse or Granary.

I'd say it's a game code issue and initial pathing for family elements.
- If this is correct then may need to deconstruct the original church and reset the pathing?
- But, have also seen families go to the location of the removed element and just stand there.

For aesthetics reasons I do, but also was hoping it would reduce walking distance for people that are living in remote villages.

I have built multiple churches but must admit i never watched to see if they would use the second church.

I build one church, then upgrade it, and my burgages manage to find it just fine, even when they are way the hell across the map.

Just like anything else, the farther away the burgage is from the source, the longer it will take for its residents to find it.

I build my church across the street from three burgages with large vegetable gardens, then I assign a family from each to be grave diggers. This gives them lots of time to tend to their turnips.

Do you have a need for grave diggers? You only need them assigned if you have corpses in your region.

No, I don't need gravediggers because I am playing Rise to Prosperity. But making them gravediggers keeps them close by so they can tend their gardens. If I just leave them unassigned, they can end up way the hell and gone across the map leading an ox or flattening the ground and not growing veggies.

That's a great idea never thought to do that thanks for posting. Still learning the game love it even with all the bugs. When I pick this back up I'll do that on my new play through. :steamhappy:
