Herbs question
Hi there,

I already read some thread from here but they don't provide much knowledge about how herbs are harvest. Mostly guesses...

Here's the "issue" :

> I start a game in winter
> I have a rich berry deposit
> In march I build a forager hut
> I upgrade the forager hut at the end of march at the latest
> I spend the whole year harvesting every single berries (2 people assigned, around 700 berries gathered)

Here's the issue... not a single herb gathered :) (I monitored the forager hut the whole year)

Do you have any insight about herbs?

Thx

The rate of consumption of herbs is very high. I let the families be assigned all the time ignoring the „warning message“, seems to increase the output of herbs. Also it seems to be better to have 2 upgraded foragers huts at rich deposit with 2 families each instead of 4 families in one. In my small towns i have a constant surplus. Although in my main town (2000 population) its pretty hard to keep up with herbs even with 2 other regions trading herbs in.

Each upgraded forager hut produces a handful of herbs each spring.
I have one region with a rich berry deposit with 3 upgraded forager huts, they produce enough to supply my other towns.

I always leave 1 person assigned, and usually put 2-3 in each come the spring time when its berry growth time. Usually reassign to fields/farms in the autumn for harvest/plow/sow/thresh/mill etc.

If your village is in its infancy, selling off berries to free traders is a good way to make some early coin to afford the herb gardens and other things like livestock and residential upgrades to get things started.
