But it looked cool to see all those sheep migrating as a herd to a new fallow field at the start of October each year. The little tiny border collies were the best.
But here's the thing -- A .4 to .5 morgen field will hold about 40 sheep. I had 27 fields, with 9 fallow each year. I would have needed almost 400 sheep to cover them all, so even if it had helped fertility, it was pretty undoable.
But it was fun to watch.
(And I was bullshitting about the border collies.)
