Mercenaries
Mercenaries are paid each month with Treasury.
They are rallied as soon as they are hired and if disbanded they will leave.
3 mercenary companies are available each month.
- There are 8 possible mercenary companies:
Local Thugs - costs 15 and gives 1 Brigands
Brigands For Hire - costs 30 and gives 2 Brigands
The Wayward Sons - costs 45 and gives 1 Light Mercenary Archers and 1 Heavy Mercenary Archers
* Battle Brothers - costs 50 and gives 1 Light Mercenary Infantry and 1 Light Mercenary Spearmen
* The Brotherhood of the Forest - costs 60 and gives 1 Brigands and 1 Light Mercenary Archers

* The Ravenous Vultures - costs 110 and gives 3 Light Mercenary Infantry
Unit - Attack type - Attack - Armor - Shield - Charge - Impaling

The baron's final army will most likely not change in composition from its usual 12 units.
With the majority of the mercenaries on your side, you should be good to attack.
1. Flock of Wild Geese.
2. Battle Brothers.
3. Greencaps.
4, The Wayward Sons.
5. Brigands for Hire.
6. Local Thugs.
Which means that by process of elimination the Barons should have 'The Brothers if The Forest' and 'The Ravenous Wolves'. Which is a shame as I thinkthey are two of the better ones.
I have plenty of silver in my treasury but nothing is becoming available to hire, so I'm not sure if it's worth hanging about now. Should I just go for it and hope to prevail?

In this image I built an army with 7 retinues, 6 militia, the Ravenous Vultures, the Greencaps and the Wayward Sons. 672 soldiers in total.
You DO have the majority of the best mercenaries. The Ravenous *Vultures are one of the best ones, yes... but the Brotherhood of the Forest is just 1 archer regiment and a band of brigands.
Your army should be strong enough to face the baron's final army.
I think you have the almost the best conditions to face off with the baron. Every time I faced his final army, it was about 11 full regiments (2 retinues, 2 spearmen, 4 footmen, 3 archers) and one band of brigands. You have a pretty evenly matched army, considering you have to rely solely on mercs.
You could use your brigands and thugs, who are highly mobile units, for chasing his archers, that will take away much of his firepower, and concentrate your professionals on dealing with the retinue and enemy mercs. Should be absolutely doable.
