Did your people eat it? Do they have other food?
Did you start making any other food sources? Hunting for meat? Berries?
Did the bandits strike again?
Did you know you can select Double Supplies at the start and get 40 loaves of bread? Makes up a little for not having ♥♥♥♥ in the way of berries.
Did someone leave the cake . . er . the bread out in the rain?
Quick drops are sometimes that youve been unlucky with weather - rain can spoil supplies that arent stored, youll get a warning. Youve likely just not built a granary in time and the bread has spoiled in the rain
Other food sources have nothing to do with this issue.
I got a notice that 1 bread was damaged by weather. No other weather damage was shown.
Are you running any mods? Have you ever run any mods on this install?
Are you trying to load a pre-0.7.975 save into a 0.7.975 game?
If none of the above, you should probably just head over to the Bug Reports subforum and report this.

After more experimenting, making a Granary immediately, like before the Logging Camp, and putting it right next to the supply pile by the tents, fixes the disappearing food issue. I'll have to make another Granary next to the Market, eventually, but the issue seems to be that the bread is getting damaged with no notice. Early Access, you know.
Thanks for your help.
I'd only suggest starting in December as a challenge once you are experienced.
Also you can turn off bandits and raiders when you are still learning the game, although bandits are really more helpful than a problem in the long run. Still you can set initial bandit camps to zero and allow them to spawn to stop any early problems with them stealing stuff.
Great. Then you should know about weather and the random chance of it being stolen by bandits, as well as family consumption.
So you should be able to identify why the bread is disappearing. Reload an earlier save and watch your messagees and consumption and see where it is going.
Drop a second hitching post first, as it doesn't require any resources and workers will build that while your Ox will start dragging logs to the grannary. The hitching post can be built before the granary has its two logs (and stone?) so you can immediately order your second Ox without delay.
It does tell you stuff is getting damage by weather or stolen by bandits, although more detail on the weather damage could be good.
