Custom resource start

Love the game but god can we get a custom resource start? I'm having to start and restart about 20 times to get one i want. It would be alright but its just not practical to buy iron in large quantities.

yeh i find rich iron mine is the only way so far to make pure bank, making everything u can out of the iron slabs.

I too find myself restarting over and over till I get something optimal. I personally don't care about fertility since I don't farm anymore, but I would like rich iron and rich animals. It takes 20-30 tries before I get the combination, and sometimes they are complete opposite sides of the region. Since people can (and will) keep restarting till they get what they want, why not just let them choose?

Hopefully the ability to customise your starting region will become an option.

you can move the animal resource by placing a building within the circle and the herd will move, just keep doing that and deleting the building until you get the herd where you want them
when placing the building within the circle place it in the opposite direction of where you want the herd i.e. if you wan the heard more north, place the building to the south of the circle

or even meet half way and maybe let us place our starting point where ever we choose on said generated map much like we can when taking a new region so the code is there...ish

would definitely prefer to select my starting region rather than endlessly re-rolling. I must have re-rolled hundreds of times!
not ready to just start on a random map yet as I'm still trying to get a grips with the mechanics like the market/farming etc before I feel confident to start a randomly assigned region or take on bandits and the AI lord

That is such a hard combo to pull. I've only managed it once. The trick is to remember to ALWAYS save your game if you get a great map combination. That way you can replay it differently at a later date or after more patches.

That's how prodedural works in every builder that has it. Im pretty selective so I expect that I'll reroll a lot. You have to balance this against replayability and people looking for a genuine challenge. To each their own.
