How Does Deep Mining Work?
I have a Stone Rich Deposit. I built a Stonecutter directly on top of the Stone icon. Stone is diminishing. Deep Mining is supposed to provide indefinite Stone. What else need I do?
I'm on pre-release beta on new playthrough with no mods

Stone cutter isn't a mine. Deep mines only work with mines and it means after the resources have been depleted your mine still produces these goods indefinitely as long as you have someone working in it. Also with the Stonecutter, Build beside the stone, not directly on it. It's not a mine

I originally built beside it. Then I read description of Deep Mining, so I moved Stonecutter on top of icon to determine if that changed things. Given your explanation, it won't. Thanks for the info.

No worries. After you build a deep mine don't worry about the resource number depleting. When it runs out it will produce that resource indefinitely. Definitely essential with the latest patch where exporting goods is a must
I also have an Iron Rich Deposit. Just built Mine.. And, I upgraded to Deep mining. Thanks again.

After building your mine, then that building has the option to upgrade to a deep mine.
Do that.
