Some villagers do haul firewood to their homes.
In the discussion "market stalls" we'd been going back and forth about whether or not villagers have to physically acquire items needed that they have access to.

It appears that at some point, a villager *will* need to get firewood from the stall or a stockpile, and bring it to their home - as per this video I just made here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBEBbF0vqog

This is the only time I have observed this, so it may be rare - but having market access =/= physically having the item in all cases.

It can also be observed that when you have the foreign vendors development point, and you set up those vendors carts, you can physically see an icon popping up whenever a villager spends town wealth on purchasing those items.

I haven't looked at this closely like I did here, though - but it's intermittent, suggesting that villagers acquire their food/firewood as needed and not all at the end/beginning of the month.

There's a couple things that could be happening here then;

1. Most houses do not have to physically gather their consumable resources, and so long as it's available in a market, most of it will be consumed automatically and without the necessity of physically acquiring it.
2. This works the same way for the firewood/bread foreign traders, meaning once and awhile seemingly for immersion, a villager will walk to physically buy the product.
3. All villagers at some point *must* physically acquire these consumable products, but that it's based on the date they moved in - meaning they all won't withdraw from the fuel/food stock at the same time, it will be staggered throughout the month. (This is partially observable from the foreign traders as mentioned above)
4. (And the worst outcome) Acquiring goods from villager owned stalls is rare, but anytime a villagers wants to purchase firewood or bread from the foreign vendors they have to *physically* go get it, making it an absolutely horrendous option as not only is it costing your town money, but it's taking up villagers time walking to the cart and then hauling that product back home.

*UPDATE*

I made a save before doing this (Because I don't want to waste a dev point on the foreign vendors this play through lol) and the stalls themselves automatically fill up, at least to 5 each in my town. Though they do have space for up to 15.

And then an Ox Handler came and physically got firewood and brought it to their home, neither family has a job that consumes extra fuel. One family is the Ox Handler, and the other is Unassigned.

The only thing both burgs share in the videos is that they're vegetable farms, but I don't think that matters tbh.
