Debating myself if I should try and look for a transparency solution where i would have to get shady 3rd party software doing funny thing with the game/windows.
Other option may be windowed mode and side by side comparison.
Another is placing a bunch of hitching posts around the perimeter for hook points and option i would imagine give a not so pretty result.
Then after placing roads, delete the farm plots.
This does remove all the trees, just to say - but if you're planning to put farms in those areas anyway, + foresters later, doesn't really matter.
I'm trying to come up with a workaround. Like for example one can "re-enter" building menu and enable overlays after having chosen to change work area on a building.
Similar work when moving a building. Hmm, this is probably best solution for now.
