How do I pick up supplies left on the ground?
No matter how many granaries or store houses I build, my settlers keep going over to bring supplies to a spot on the ground, and then I get notifications all the time that these supplies are being rained on and stuff. But I can't click on it to tell anybody to pick it up?

You have to build a granary or store house and assign workers they will pick up the materials and store them properly

They do it randomly at their own pace - having a lot of free workers may help - or you can define a very tiny "work area" for a warehouse/granary over the supplies and it might help.

If you are talking about logs - they are stored in the log work building only and ox have to take it there. If the ox is busy being guided doing other things first ... etc.

I've got several granaries and store houses, and multiple of them have people assigned, but the supplies are still just sitting there. It's been like 3+ in game years. lol

ahhhh, didn't know that about the logs, I also have 200+ just sitting on the ground somewhere. Thanks for that info, I'll have to get somebody assigned to the logging building then.

If all your workers assigned to the warehouse and granary have stalls in the market they will prioritize that over picking up supplies

Oh ... if it's been that long, it may be a bug. I had that happen once when I deleted a market then also (I guess/think) deleted a tiny tiny bit of road section that was attached to that market, before citizens had picked up everything, and suddenly the "supplies" circle was stuck. eg, it would say nothing was in it, but it remained/I couldn't build there. Forever.

Could be something similar - a glitched supplies circle. If so, you'll just have to live with it, for the moment.

I did delete a food stall from a marketplace and now there's just 5 bread sitting there forever now, I guess. lmao

storehouse or granery

Its a buggy mess! You can do it by manually setting a workzone for the family assigned to the storehouse. Its a totally janky workaround for a jankfest.

This how I solved it
In the storage house / granary that those items belong to to be stored, click on advanced then untick all items except for the items on the ground, then select limit work area
you want to reduce this to small enougn circle to just place the around those items on the ground.
Use hold ctrl with L/mouse to set the circle size scrolling your mouse wheel then left click to place it. All these villagers with carts appeared for me with in minutes and picked it up. Go back to your storage shed and remove limit work area place ticks back ,
When I deleted the manor it left 2 stacks of firewood this worked to remove them.

only it doesnt work...

If you have other jobs assigned (i.e. building multiple buildings at once), the workers will wait until they're no longer assigned to a job to collect supplies left on the ground either from destroying a building or the initial goods at the start. If you want them to do the work, pause all building projects and give it a few minutes.

If this doesn't resolve it, save the game and reload as it's likely the task scheduling bug that has persisted since the start.

The thread is 6 months old.
Every day, you have 1 of these necro-bumped, pulled out of .... While the important information and help gets pushed back, and is not being read, and the same very simple questions are asked again.

The system of picking up and storing goods is well established and works, given there is enough labour at hand.

Postings with 2 words in them should be strongly checked for malicious activity anyway.
