Planting in November?

My town is about to starve unless I get my wheat turned into bread but my farmers are planting the fields again in November rather than turning my wheat to grain. I have threshold priority at high. Any idea how to fix this?

If the threshing is that urgent, I would set the fields to fallow, so they stop fieldwork and go threshing. When there is enough grain, you can set them to be worked on again, but they might not get finished in time that way.

Yep, this exactly. But don't start early or the game will instantly undo anything done before this.
