I'm an alpha tester and have had the game for over half a year at this point.

Since November of last year.

I like the use of the word "cr@p" in that statement. At least one developer knows where we are all coming from.
Looking forward to playing this weekend.

You know what’s funny? I see the justification for regional pricing is to make games more affordable in poorer countries with lower incomes to increase access in those markets, and this is not something I necessarily oppose. But it’s also used to make prices *more* expensive in some for reasons that are not clear or justifiable by any metric (or combination of metrics) I can fathom. I’ve seen prices in AU/NZ for instance 30-40% *above* the converted $US price, and I can assure you wealth and income is not higher here than in the US. Maybe we have lower extreme poverty rates or something because of better welfare and higher minimum wages, but even that doesn’t seem to explain it all.

I’ve also seen regional pricing applied very differently by different developers and publishers, since what Steam provides is only a guide and publishers can set their own prices for each game and market. Many obviously choose to ignore Steam’s suggestions and go with their own.

So it’ll be interesting to see how regional pricing plays out again for this game.

21 states in US has min wage of $7. While minimum wage in Australia is $20.

What about the other 29 states? America has a bizarre tipping culture so that $7/h is supplemented by tips in most cases. And yeah, have you seen the cost of living, especially housing, in Australia? We pay higher taxes too I'm sure.

My point is you can cherry-pick any measures you want to make an argument, but if the stated aim of regional pricing is to increase affordability, then the methods they use are often not very comprehensive or fair for us down-under, and potentially in other regions as well.

After the statement of the developer saying the game is not this and this and that but only a small scale city building game, I expect the price to be fairly low. Would be crazy to charge the same money as games which are all that cost.
