Building over the king's road
Yesterday I tried to build houses on both sides of the king's road (one side is a bit hilly and the other side is lowland so I thought it would be a nice layout). My market is connected to my road in the lowland part, so are my houses. But when I tried to build a house next to the king's road on the other hilly side, the market didn't deliver anything at all to the house. And it was not because the market was far away or busy (because I only have 6 houses so far and some of them are more far than the unfunctional one). It just didn't deliver anything the whole year. I then destroyed the house and put it to the same side as the rest and it's working. So does the king's road somehow stop market from noticing buildings on the other side?

market doesnt have distant problem. it will deliver to the other side of earth

problem is market worker doesnt count houses in construction (house in upgrade as well)
if u build new houses closer to ur old house, the new houses will eat the supply and old houses further away will be out of supply. but market worker doesnt count that house until u finish consctruction

so whenever u construct or upgrade housing, do it as fast as possible to reduce that market workers "math problem"

also try to build houses from towncenter outward. dont build too much further away and start building new houses in downtown

if u dont construct any house for one full month, u will see the market supply going back up toward 100%

(side note, granary warehouses must be surrounding marketplaces, and only store 1type of item each. use logging camp as guideline to draw a empty space and reserve this space for marketplace, u will need 3 warehouses + at least 3 granary to serve marketplaces)
1ware store fabric (choose 1 from leather linen yarn)
1ware store clothign (choose 1 from shoes cloth cloak)
1ware store firewood (choose 1 from firewood charcoal)

for granary i dont have sure suggestion yet, but i guess u still wanna store 1 types of food each to reduce interference (depending what rich resource u have) (but as current version, many food are delivered by homeowner, they interfere with market stall size)
if u make veggie farm and apple farm lower tier, granary worker will pick them up when their pantry is overflowing
----------------------------------------------------------

keep ur main granary and warehouse slightly further away and build industry center aroud it.

houses around ur marketplace(town center) should aim to get to tier3 (1+1, four family housing)
houses around ur industry (production center) should aim to get to tier2 only (1+0 single family, as they only work from home, but late game when u have over 250+population, u can start squeezing 4 family into production housing)

I don't think having houses in construction was the problem. The problem was that the market didn't care about the one house on the other side of the main king's road. Like I said I only have 6 houses and I try to build them slowly and for specific workers because I really want to have a nice layout. As soon as I destroyed the house and placed it to the side where all the rest of buildings are, it immediately got covered by market. So I want to know if the king's road somehow blocks markets to get to houses.

no, kings road doesnt do that. i always build around kings road, as i use my tradepost closer to my towncenter where all the storage building is located for short trade route

Hmmm, so maybe it was just a bug and I will try it again later. I am curious if it will work. Thank you!
