Day/night cycle activated?

Has your town grown large? Maybe that's putting more stress in someway. Although I would think that would be more CPU stress than GPU, for this sort of game. Just spitballing.

This could be normal. It could also not be normal.
Without information about your specs, operating system and what you are doing in game we can't even try to help you.

which card are u using, theres one guy with rx580 telling same story, my 3060ti doesnt do anything
but it might also be me using msi afterburner to tune the card slightly

In this case, if the temperature gets a bit hotter than usual, it can be enough to lock the framerate to say 140, 120, 60fps, depending on hardware, graphics settings and what resolution you are using.

"out of nowhere" could use a little more explaining, as well. Was gpu not hot for a week of long play sessions, and suddenly today it immediately was? Or is it that it gets high only after a long session/slowly over time? I mean, that could be a symptom of a lot of things, including ambient room temp. changes, including room temp rising over time from all the hot air your PC is spitting out. >.>

For me it's like this:
If I let Geforce Experience take over the graphics settings, everything is set to Ultra and 4K and my GPU gets 80 degrees. I set the FPS to 120 and the resolution to Full HD. Now it stays at 72 degrees.

I7 7700k
RTX 3060
48GB Ram

Undervolting the gpu by a little helps with temps too, and you won't notice any performance difference. And by a little, I do mean a little. Like 90-95 instead of 100, as example.

Well, I've noticed this since the first 5 minutes of game play here. The GPU temp got straight to 82°C. I'll try to play some time to see how high it can get..

I'm using a gtx1060 6gb dual fan, with a custom OC and fan curve. Before this game, the highest temp my GPU had got was 73° and after 20 minutes in Uncharted 4.

The only thing I've tried so far it was locking 30fps and disabling the OC

I had this until I cleaned the unholy amount of dust out of my pc :steamhappy:

Yup, same here with 2 different PCs. Granted, none of them super op but still decent, and this is the only game that does that to this PCs.

I have a 2070 ultra ti card, fast cpu etc, all games run great. high end case with at least 9 fans, plus the 3 on my card. needless to say my temps are always good, but yes mine to will run at 82 ish with this game and the fans will kick up to over 4k speed if the temp creeps up to 83-85 , Its not causing any of my other system hardware to get warmer and the gpu doesnt actually feel warm nor does the case etc

I watch the temps on my 2nd screen with the game, but i dont believe its damaging anything.
