Any reason to make armor?
I've had time to have a few play through now and just can't find a reason to make armor.
My first game was a wash due to bugs bit the ai flights I had was easy.
The second and third game I could just take over the map at will after a couple years. Defending until then was pretty easy .
Other than making a few helmets u do not even bother with making armor since by the time I can skill up to it most iron deposits are gone and I'm shipping tiny amounts in from afar .
The ai is either just to dumb or to weak to be any challenge once you get going.
I mean maybe if you was playing against a friend and he was upgrading units or attack with better odds or any of a million things a player might do then the pain to make armor would be worth it but as of now I can't find a reason to go through so much for so little. Plus the waste of the few tech points you get going down that line.
Is there any point to armor or better weapons other than spears?

Seems like the stamina cost of armor is quite massive, so tough to say how it will perform in a sustained battle. I've yet to make that happen in any of my games. I can say armored soldiers performed a lot better in battle than fellows just wearing their standard smock.

I've set my current game to have a bunch of raids, so I can test exactly this out! My guess is in the current state of the game, if you can keep your town functional, you'll reliably get new recruits, making it a bit unnecessary. The main draw then would be it just looks cool.

Anyway, I'll report back after I play through a few years of this raid game if I can find this thread again

Thats about what i figured. Maybe at some point there will be a reason to do it other than it looks cool..which it does lol.

So after a few years, nothing worse than bandits showed up, which my mail-armored troops made very short work of. When it came time for the final conflict, I believe I lost 4 soldiers compared to total defeat for the enemy. So tl;dr if you use the armor you will be very very strong heh
