FPS drops after 30 seconds
Context : I play on a laptop with i7 10th gen, 16Go RAM and RTX 3070

So the timeline is :
I've played ML on release day and ran it smoothly at 60 fps for hours.
Yesterday I loaded my save and I was playing at 15 fps.
I started a fresh save, still 15 fps.
I unplugged my laptop, replugged it, and my game instantly played at 60 fps for around 1 minute

What's the problem?/How can I fix this?

I updated my GeForce drivers and same thing happens

Game needs patching desperately but dev seems to be taking a break or can't be bothered with the game after making a mint in money from the sales it made....has been total rubbish from the start and not all it was cracked up to be....
Hi,

Try this,

Open Nvidia Control Panel and click on Manage 3D settings, which should take you to the global settings tab.

One of the settings is power management/energy saving - Change this to Maximum Performance if it's not on that already.

A few lines below that there's a setting called Preferred Graphics Processor.
This should be set to your RTX 3070.

Click apply and now you're done.

Hopefully this takes care of the problem but let me know.
Good suggestion above. If that doesn’t work, try turning down all your graphics settings for a short test. If the game runs smooth on lower settings with good FPS then I suspect your laptop is thermal throttling on the higher settings due to excessive heat.

A laptop based 3070 won’t be as efficient as a desktop based card due to the cooling and other cut down features.
Are you familiar with a thing called under volting?

I just did both and tried again, same issues.

I had tried this in various configurations. When setting everything on Low, I run at 40-45 fps. With these settings, when I unplug/plug back the laptop charger I run at 250 fps.

I don't know much about undervolting, what about it ?
Turn down all your settings to medium and turn on DLSS Quality. Adjust each setting accordingly until you get a happy compromise between graphics and performance.
The game is being patched and can corrupt old saved games..

As I said it doesn't seem to be a performance issue since I'm running at 90 fps with all settings on Ultra with DLSS enabled and set on Quality

As I said I have this problem on both old and new saves
