Price of Imports
I'm curious what everyone else's thoughts are on import cost balance.

Personally I find it obnoxiously, prohibitively expensive to import anything continuously. If it's something like stone or clay to place a single building it works fine, but if it's part of a supply chain or a consumable it's just entirely unsustainable.

...Unless you have the tariff evasion perk. Then it's way too cheap, and there's little reason to expand to neighboring POIs for regional resources at all. Making this development perk way too strong.

Just one suggestion:
Reduce tariffs by half while increasing base import prices by half. In example: Barley import costs 12 (2 with perk) currently. After -half and +half change it would cost 8 (3 with perk).

Edit:
Just to reiterate how extreme this perk's impact is, mathematically the price of a single unit of barley goes down by 83% when you unlock it. That's just silly.

You can be self sufficient with 2 territory. One rich in iron/clay. The other got green farm area.

Okay, I won't disagree, but I don't understand what that has to do with prohibitively high import tariffs.

Probably they haven't found the right balance yet. So avoid it for the moment.

They made the import tariff to simply add 10 to the cost of importing.
Then they made the perk subtract 10, effectively making you need the perk to trade.

Maybe they should look at other games market balance to find their own balance.
It's as if they have never played a game with a market system before.
