- Control when the farmer works by pause/unpause farmhouse. When you pause it all the farmers will move to the common worker pool instead of just standing around doing nothing.
- On auto, workers will try to plow/sow starting in Autumn. Instead of this you can tell them to start during spring from Mar, and after they are done sowing, pause the farmhouse so they wont do early harvest during the summer
- Wait until Oct/Nov to unpause the farmhouse, I think November is the latest you can go before crops start rotting. Go into each field manually and tick "force early harvest" after unpause farmhouse, and your farmer will start collecting stuff and deposit them to center of the field.
- After they are done, depending on what crop you grow (wheat/rye requires thrashing), you might want to keep worker in your farm house for a bit longer to finish their work (collect deposit from field or thrashing) before pausing the farmhouse again and wait for march of next year.
Doing this I was able to collect crops at around 80-90+ crop growth, instead of letting the AI harvest automatically during summer at much much lower growth %.
